ELECTRICITY IN MARYLAND'S FUTURE
The spark that ignites or the short circuit that fries

We take it for granted. Flip the switch and the light comes on. Adjust the thermostat and the room temperature changes. But what happens if the light doesn't come on or the room temperature stays the same? A dilemma we could be facing as our demand for electricity increases.

Maryland's existing generation plants are getting older and we must compete with surrounding states for the energy that we import. So, how do we guarantee that the one common denominator all businesses (and homes) need - electricity - will be available, abundant, reliable, and affordable?
