Tri-County Council launches new regional economic development website – LESMD.NET
Salisbury, MD- The Tri-County Council for the Lower Eastern Shore of Maryland is pleased to announce the launch of a new website created to assist and support the efforts of economic development, tourism, and chambers of commerce offices within the three Lower Shore counties of Somerset, Wicomico, and Worcester.
The brand new website aims to serve as a resource for regional economic development information by concentrating on existing and emerging industry, entrepreneurial opportunity, and educational assets available on the shore. A major focus lies within clearly displaying the connection between specific economic engines and the educational continuum within the LESMD Region. Additional features include:
- Economic Engines – an analysis of the large economic forces on the Lower Eastern Shore.
- Emphasis on Education – dedicated to identifying programs offered by area higher education institutions, and the three Career Technical Education schools which display a synthesis with Lower Shore employers and their workforce needs.
- Projects in Perspective – a survey of major infrastructure projects in the region.
- Aerospace on the Shore – an overview of Wallops Flight Facility and its impact and importance to the Lower Shore.
The Tri-County Council is committed to regular, consistent updating of LESMD.net through close interaction with the stakeholders whose cooperation made it possible. Additionally, the Tri-County Council will host a regular quarterly meeting of its Regional Economic Development Committee to update content and ensure information accuracy.
