Explain your background in economic development
Experienced in attraction, retention, workforce development, broadband expansion, infrastructure funding and establishing a new public private economic development organization from the ground up.

What are your key priorities within your current position?
CEO insight, leadership development and transformation management. Consulting that focuses on identifying, analyzing and improving existing business processes, and providing guidance on organization management, culture, communications, transitions and team dynamics.

Does one particular project spark your excitement? If so, describe it below.
Helping the CEO to cut through the noise identifying issues of greatest importance to team success. I provide unfettered insights and best practice solutions to help the CEO make stronger moves that benefit culture, staffing and operational efficiencies.

What professional pressures keep you up at night?
The effects of the COVID pandemic.

What attributes are unique to your community?
State Government, access to the water, historical landmarks, and the US Navel Academy.

What are your locality’s top three “selling points” for future growth?
Strong broadband coverage and capacity. High quality of life. Strong schools.

If you could wave a magic wand, what would you want to work with MEDA on to move Maryland forward?
A plan for Maryland’s infrastructure enhancements. Establishing a cohesive coordinated plan for responding to opportunities such as Amazon’s east coast headquarters.

Is there anything else you’d like to share with MEDA and your fellow members?
My expertise is built on 22 years of leadership and management experience within business, economic development, association and chamber of commerce industries.

I am a UMGC graduate with an MBA and a Masters of Science in Marketing and an adorable Irish Red and White Setter named Cooper.
