4:00 PM Breakout Sessions

• Known Unknowns on the Horizons for Supply Chains: Change is on the horizon for the supply chain, and it’s not just a feeling. A new law is making its way through congress, there’s rumblings of a merger from a trusted client, or perhaps there’s a national election on the horizon. You want to be ready, but the outcome is uncertain. How do you prepare when you don’t know exactly what you’re preparing for? Join us for a conversation around future planning where the only wrong move is to do nothing.
• The Logistics of Workforce Development: Our ports, airports, roadways, and warehouses would be rendered moot without the men and women working there and keeping things moving. But hiring and retaining that workforce is a constant challenge – especially in the face of ongoing technological disruption. Instead of fearing this change, we should embrace it and push back on the narrative. New technologies are helping our employees, making them more efficient than ever before, freeing them up to develop their skills even further. Our workforce is our strongest asset, and providing the tools, time, and support can bring dividends.

Maryland is home to two of the largest transportation and trade meccas in the United States: the Port of Baltimore and Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport. Once a year, we are fortunate to welcome port leaders to give their take on the challenges and opportunities confronting our ports.
