PUBLIC NOTICE: Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development Announces Applications Open on Expanded Round of Home Stretch for Public Housing Program
The Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development’s Office of Statewide Broadband has announced applications are open for an expanded round of the Home Stretch for Public Housing program, which provides funding for the purpose of fixing or upgrading internal wiring and providing common area Wi-Fi for municipally owned and non-profit, low-income multi-dwelling units.
Grants between $250,000 and $5,000,000 are available through this round of the program. By covering the costs associated with fixing and upgrading the internal infrastructure, this grant enables targeted housing units to effectively leverage the high-speed broadband services already offered by their existing Internet Service Providers.
To be eligible to apply, an applicant must be an existing Internet Service Provider actively offering high speed internet services over their own physical network infrastructure to eligible municipally owned or non-profit low income multi-dwelling units, or a municipally owned or nonprofit organization operating multi-dwelling units.
Applications close January 31, 2025. All applications and supporting documents must be submitted via email to OSB.MD@Maryland.gov. For more information on grant and match requirements or applicant criteria, visit the Grant Programs webpage.
