A PROCUREMENT CONNECTION WORKSHOP
Are you interested in contracting opportunities with state agencies and institutions?
If so, then this unique workshop is for you. Join us for an overview of how our small, minority, women, and veteran procurement programs work. You’ll hear what buyers are looking for right now, and what’s in their pipelines. You will also learn more about Western Maryland’s largest and most comprehensive technology-based business incubator, the Technical Innovation Center (TIC). The TIC provides support to entrepreneurs specific to emerging tech companies, access to business and government communities, and laboratory space and equipment for biotechnology and alternative energy companies.
“Public procurement can be a difficult process to navigate,” said Jimmy Rhee, special secretary of the Governor’s Office of Minority Affairs. “We want to help small businesses master the skills necessary to compete with confidence as they go after prime and subcontracting opportunities in the public sector.”
The workshop features a presentation on how to navigate the state’s procurement process with a focus on accessing small procurement opportunities. Participants will be able to meet with buyers from the State Highway Administration, Department of General Services, Department of Natural Resources, Maryland Transit Administration, the Department of Labor, Licensing and Regulation, Maryland State Police, and Washington County Government. It will also include a presentation on the entrepreneurial services available to emerging technology companies through the Technical Innovation Center.
Stick around for the networking portion to meet state procurement officers and representatives from the TIC & other professional organizations that want to see your small business grow.
Who should attend? Small, Minority, and Women Business owners interested in learning how to do business with the state of Maryland.
