Job Description:

Provide daily internal and external direction for the Small Business Development Center on Maryland’s Eastern Shore. The position will work with the Project Grant Administrator to comply with regional and statewide directives and compliance. Business Consulting.

Authority and Accountability:

The Program Director reports to John Hickman, Director of BEACON, who oversees the SBDC Grant. The Director supervises five direct reports, and up to twenty student consultants (not staff, course assigned). The Director has the responsibility for spending decisions on the SBDC budget. The Director supervises four office locating in the eight counties of the Eastern Shore.

Required/Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Business (e.g., Entrepreneurship), Management, Finance, or related field and 5-7 years of work experience. Must be detail oriented and have excellent interpersonal, customer service, organization and planning, prioritization, problem solving, follow through, time management, and oral and written communication skills. Also, must be flexible and possess the ability to successfully handle multiple tasks/projects simultaneously and work well under pressure, work independently and in a team-oriented environment. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint) is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience owning or managing a small business or banking and Master’s degree in a business-related field.
