Members’ Corner: Sadaf Parveen
Name, Title, Organization:
Sadaf Parveen, Marketing Communications Specialist, Maryland Technology Development Corporation (TEDCO)
What are your key priorities within your current position?
My key priorities are to coordinate and support the Development and Marketing team projects (traditional & digital marketing, sponsorships, research), data management and entry, manage communications with vendors, organize meetings, track deadlines, assist with special events, and contribute to content creation across various channels for the Development and Marketing department.
What attributes are unique to your community?
TEDCO has the distinct pleasure of sharing a community that encompasses the entirety of Maryland’s technology and life science industries. Throughout these industries, we find forward-thinking approaches, commitments to innovation, and pride in supporting more diversity. Such attributes allow TEDCO to continue our mission, empowering entrepreneurs and supporting the growth and diversification of Maryland’s ecosystem.
What are your locality’s top three “selling points” for future growth?
TEDCO’s locality includes all of Maryland, a diverse state rich in assets and resources. As such, it only makes sense to name the top three selling points as the state’s resourcefulness, inclusive, and culturally affluent.
If you could wave a magic wand, what would you want to work with MEDA on to move Maryland forward?
I would like to see more efforts to actively embrace Maryland’s diverse communities through fostering growth and professional opportunities for underserved populations. MEDA has the unique position of supporting Maryland’s economic development. As a diverse state, I believe it’s essential that the organization continues to move forward, creating new programs and opportunities for members to empower diverse communities and support more equity.
