Bill Badger named Centreville’s economic development manager

Bill Badger, a long time Maryland economic development professional with more than 3 decades of experience, has been named part time economic development manager for the Town of Centreville. Badger started his position on July 20.

Badger will focus on creating and retaining jobs, and encouraging new commercial and industrial development opportunities that will create new revenue for the Town.  Tim McCluskey, Centreville Town Council President says, “Bill’s lengthy economic development career in suburban and rural environments will lend itself well to the needs of Centreville.  I’m confident that Bill will be successful in Centreville and we are thrilled to have him spearheading our long term economic development strategy.”

Badger worked 17 years at the now Maryland Department of Commerce and served as the President and CEO of the Anne Arundel Economic Development Corporation for 7 and one half years. “Bill brings a wealth of experience to the Town of Centreville in his new role. We are pleased to have him here in Centreville and have high expectations that he will execute the Town’s Economic Development plan,” says Steve Walls, Town Manager.  “Bill’s work will complement the efforts that have been taking place with our Main Street program,” he adds.   Badger also received his professional certification from the International Economic Development Council, and was recently inducted into the Maryland Economic Development Hall of Fame.

“I am excited about this new opportunity in Centreville. Centreville is really Maryland’s eastern shore business hub, and we are seeking new investment and job creation,” said Badger.
