PUBLIC NOTICE: Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development to hold Virtual Public Hearing on the Weatherization Assistance Program (WAP) State Plan
The Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD) will hold a virtual public hearing on April 18, 2025, to receive comments on the Department’s Annual Application for Federal Assistance for the Weatherization Assistance Program (WAP). The application serves as a guide on how an estimated $3.8 million in federal funding, estimated to assist 260 households across the state, will be used. The program reduces energy and utility costs through the installation of energy efficiency measures in eligible households.

Hearing Participation:
- Individuals who wish to provide oral testimony must submit a request to speak no later than 3:00 p.m. on Friday, April 11, 2025.
- Each speaker will be allotted three (3) minutes for testimony.
- DHCD representatives may ask clarifying questions during the hearing but will not respond formally to testimony at that time.
- A verbatim transcript of the hearing will be made available upon request.
