MEDA’s Rhonda Ray Scholarship: Summer 2024 Honoree

MEDA is proud to introduce Rosanna Mantova, the summer 2024 recipient of our Rhonda Ray Scholarship.

Rosanna is currently pursuing a Master of Public Policy (MPP) degree at the University of Maryland, specializing in International Security and Economic Policy. This scholarship will support her Applied Policy Analysis and Program Evaluation course, which she believes is crucial for understanding how to evaluate and improve policies and programs through evidence-based approaches.

MEDA’s Rhonda Ray Scholarship reflects our commitment to supporting students in their educational journey. It also honors a beloved friend and colleague, Rhonda Ray, who served as a MEDA member and dedicated over two decades of her career to economic development. Established in 2021, this scholarship is a tribute to Rhonda Ray’s dedication to mentorship, education, public policy, and economic development by supporting college students pursuing degrees and courses within these fields.

Rosanna expressed her gratitude for the award, stating, “Receiving the Rhonda Ray scholarship allows me to pursue my passion in policy and to contribute to changes that can help the communities throughout Maryland. Not only does this scholarship signify the recognition of my hard work and dedication, but it also serves as a source of motivation that will allow me to continue to strive for success.”

Rosanna holds a Bachelor of Science in Political Science and Economics with a minor in Italian from Towson University. Since completing her undergraduate program, she has gained experience working as the Executive Associate for the Maryland Public Service Commission, the International Affairs and Trade Specialist for the Maryland Department of Commerce, and currently serves as the Assistant Director of International Affairs for the Maryland Office of the Secretary of State.
